Yes, it is true. In the rather sleepy and idyllic village of Flúðir in the South of Iceland, which is notable for being the mushroom-growing capital of Iceland, you can get a real taste of Ethiopia.
Try the delicious small restaurant called Minilik. It is run by an Icelandic guy and his wife from Ethiopia, who is also the chef. Although I managed to make a mess of things by picking it up with bread, it is a rather welcome break from the standard roadside fare of hamburgers and hot dogs.
How to get there?
Drive to the town of Flúðir. The restaurant is on road number. 30 (see the picture of the restaurant and the map below).
